How to Use These Recommendations
These recommendations are based on Zach's opinion after building and testing around 1,000 gaming PCs over the years. They're designed specifically for gaming PCs, so if your primary use is video editing, 3D rendering, software development, AI workloads, or other productivity tasks, some of these recommendations may change.
These picks are intended to help narrow down your choices, not suggest that these are the only great options. There are plenty of excellent parts that aren't included here, and you're absolutely not limited to what's recommended below.
The price ranges and typical prices are general guidelines. Prices change frequently, so you may see products listed above or below the ranges shown.
None of these recommendations are sponsored. While some links are affiliate links that help support ZTT at no additional cost to you, no manufacturer has paid us to recommend a specific product. Every recommendation is included because Zach genuinely believes it's a great choice for a gaming PC.
Entry Level Cases
Recommended for gaming PCs under $750-$1000.
Okinos Aqua Uno
$45 - $50
mATX
3 ARGB Fans
GPU Max: 309mm
One of the most affordable but still competent cases on the market. Fish tank design. Fans create a negative air pressure setup which is fine. Multiple color options. No AIO support at all.
Okinos Mirage 4
$50 - $60 USD
mATX
3 ARGB Fans
GPU Max: 325mm
Similar to the Aqua Uno, but with a positive air pressure setup. The 2 bottom fans are intake. Can support a 240 AIO, but it would be tight. Looks amazing for the price, comes in white and black. Dual chamber, so PSU is in the back.
Montech X5M
$50 - $60
mATX
4 ARGB Fans
GPU Max: 405mm
Go with this if you don't want a fish tank design. More of a traditional setup with 3 intake fans and 1 exhaust. Carbon fiber front panel accent looks incredible. Plenty of space for cable management. 360mm AIO support.
Mid Range Cases
Recommended for gaming PCs between roughly $750 - $1500.
Lian Li V100 Mini
$60 - $70
mATX
4 ARGB Fans
GPU Max: 415mm
Fantastic value. ARGB strip syncs with fans and looks great. Built-in GPU support bracket. (Top and Bottom) Neat slanted PSU basement. Front fans are reverse-bladed for intake. High quality Lian Li materials.
Montech XR
$65 - $75 USD
ATX
3 ARGB Fans
GPU Max: 420mm
Best value for an ATX sized fish tank case. Vented PSU basement. Safe and minimal design. There is a white version, but the front plate has ugly blue "wood grain" streaks. Plenty of room for extra cooling/AIO.
Okinos Air Cross
$80 - $90
ATX
5 Black Fans
GPU Max: 400mm
Beautiful black/wood design for non ARGB builds. Built-in cable management is super easy. Lots of airflow with 3x 140mm and 2x 120mm included fans. Back connect motherboard compatible. Built-in GPU support bracket. Huge power button on front panel.
High End Cases
Recommended for gaming PCs above roughly $1500.
